Sick Of Me

This is my moment of surrender. This is when I lay it all down so WE [because I’m honestly sick of ME] can try again. For all the things I picked up yesterday that weren’t mine to carry. For the dreams I see slipping through my tightly gripped fingers. For the frustration I spilled on those around me. For all the situations I was sure should have turned out differently. For that project that I’ve poured insane amounts of effort into that didn’t work out. For the starting and stopping and working and striving. For all the places I’ve hidden from your Word. For all the ways I’ve tried to live in my version of your truth. For the box that I so often try to carry you around in. I surrender, Lord... I surrender.
+++
Surrender doesn’t mean I give up, it means I can’t move forward on my own. And I’ll do whatever it takes to allow you into this mess I’ve made. Take it all Lord if it means I have you. Stop it all Lord if it means I see you. Move me or cause me to be still whatever it takes to feel your presence God. My heart is wide open and ready to receive all that you have planned.
+++
Is today your day, too? The day you open your hands to receive whatever God has for you. You can’t release your grip when you are afraid to drop what you are holding so dear. The only way to truly encounter our magnificent creator is to give it all up.

“Trust GOD from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for GOD ’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track. Don’t assume that you know it all. Run to GOD! Run from evil! Your body will glow with health, YOUR VERY BONES WILL VIBRATE WITH LIFE! Honor GOD with everything you own; give him the first and the best. Your barns will burst, your wine vats will brim over. But don’t, dear friend, resent GOD ’s discipline; don’t sulk under his loving correction. It’s the child he loves that GOD corrects; a father’s delight is behind all this.”
