Guilt is toxic!!! Like seriously... TOXIC!

I imagine sin like a ruptured appendix (hang with me here... I promise this WILL get weird), left untreated a ruptured appendix will kill you. Once it is removed your life is saved.

Now imagine if you asked the doctor to give you your busted up appendix or worse... snatched it on the way out of the hospital. Would you carry it around in your pocket? Would you pull it out when you were feeling sad and pet it? Or even worse, entertain it??? **insert dancing appendix puppet here** NEVER!! That’s gross and slightly weird. But most importantly... it’s TOXIC!

SIN is death!!! Untreated sin causes certain death. Only when sin is handed over to Jesus does healing occur. WHY IN THE WORLD ARE YOU CARRYING AROUND YOUR RUPTURED APPENDIX??

Guilt is the act of carrying forgiven sin in your pocket. Pulling them out and petting them... thinking about them... entertaining them. Nothing good comes from thinking about and holding on to the person you used to be.

What area of your life are you certain still disqualifies you from the kingdom? What’s the one thing that stares back at you in the mirror? Let it go! Back away from the nasty appendix people!
