Under My Umbrella

I sometimes wonder why NOTHING happens when I pray. Where do my prayers even go? Were my eyes not closed enough? Was I supposed to have my hands together? Palms touching or fingers interlocked? Oh... I know, I wasn’t on my knees.

Ok... not really but I do wonder if I did it wrong. Today God dropped this in my heart. “Your expectations are the predictions of your prayers production” The power of my prayers hinges on my expectancy! And my expectancy comes from my trust in Him and His promises.

Are you asking God for something then trusting someone or something else fulfill that need? Seeking the double taps for affirmation? Checking your likes for encouragement? Begging your spouse for a bit more attention? Look at me, see me? Running an extra 5 miles thinking it will make you feel better? Looking at the empty bottle hoping the next one will drown out the noise? My hope would be that you ask God BOLDLY for the things you need, emotionally, physically, spiritually, for your household, for your friends. Then ACT as if his answer is YES!

Ask boldly, believingly, without a second thought. People who "worry their prayers" are like wind-whipped waves. James 1:6

If your prayers for rain don’t cause you to actively carry an umbrella... will you ever see the rain??
